Christina Aguilera was hospitalized with bloodied lip days before announcing split from husband, report says

Just days before announcing her separation from husband Jordan Bratman, singer Christina Aguilera was hospitalized for a bloody lip, according to a report from RadarOnline.com.

An eyewitness tells Radar that Aguilera was seen “bleeding from her mouth and had a bit of a busted lip,” along with other “bumps and red bruises” when she arrived at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.

Aguilera was accompanied by her estranged husband, who told the nurses “she had fallen down.”

According to Radar’s source, her “private surgeon” was brought in to put a few stitches in her lip.

The singer was photographed on October 12, the same day the split was announced, sporting a hat pulled down over her face. Later that week, photos show what appears to be a red mark under her lip.

Still, sources connected to the couple tell TMZ it was not domestic violence.

Her rep declined to offer comment to Radar. Of the split with Bratman, whom she married in 2005, Aguilera said the couple’s “commitment to our son Max remains as strong as ever.”

Radar reports that it was Bratman’s jealousy that led to tension in their relationship.

Aguilera opened up to Redbook magazine about the split, saying “it’s not easy, and there have been a lot of tears and sadness.”

“It’s impossible to redefine yourself and your life overnight,” she adds. “Thankfully, I have my mom and a small group of close of friends who are there for me 24/7 and whom I can trust and depend on. On days when it feels impossible to even get out of bed, much less function as a mother, their support and encouragement have kept me moving forward.”

Aguilera declined to comment on rumors of infidelity, or what led the couple to split, saying “out of respect for my husband, I prefer to keep the specifics private. Right now I’m just trying to figure out how to make it through each day.”
